anyone hear anything?

I'm hoping for the possibility of that 4.5k 2.40:1 mode, or at least an option to darken outside the frame guides if shooting 2.40.

anyway, just curious.

understood, Jim :)

Looking forward to seeing whatever you guys come up with. And if we get a little holiday gift, I'm sure all the REDusers will give a big cheer to Santa Jannard!

Let the RED team get Build 18 released first... And 4.5K will be cool, but I can think of several things I would want more. I'd love to be able to use the joystick to move around in 1:1 zoom mode, for example. Of course, that may not be technically possible, but I would like to do it. :)

And please, please, please! get 1:1 zoom in playback mode back in! This is realy a huge help for focus assistants.

Thanks!

Give it time. Redcode isn't working with our Build 18 4K Ana footage yet. Sure 4.5k would be nice, but what we have now is pretty excellent.

Let them get Build 18 in release at least, before people start calling for build 19.

Is it possible to fix the playback from the RED DRIVE? We got crashes every second time we played footage back...

Amen to that. Playback was impossible for me the other day in Anamorphic mode. Build 18, another person's camera. If you need playback on set right now, at least in anamorphic ( I didn't test any other format) , you'd better plan on using an external device.

What is this 1:1 on playback mode they were talking about??? Is it possible stay on 1:1 while shooting? I can't tell you how much we'd like that feature. . . terrific for pulling focus. What would be the point of 1:1 after the shot????

I imagine people would be checking critical focus on a tough shot before moving on.

I had the same thing. What has worked for me without trouble is: playback the first time on the battery is no problem. After that I only play the same footage back on the charger. I haven't had any troubles after I started doing that. Ofcourse it may be necessary for some people to play back the same footage a couple of times when they're in the field and on batteries...

Will you make it possible to view thumbnails of the clips so we can navigate easily to earlier clips for playback?

Stephen, I'd have a hard time framing the shot when the displays were zoomed in to 1:1 during the roll. ;-)

I'd rather be in focus and reframe in post! :w00t:

Nothing worse than coming back to the studio with a soft shot.

Not everything revolves around studio set ups. I'm doing a lot of run&gun as well as live work with the Red One. Working great but always worried about nailing focus during long shots.

In a perfect world we could have 1:1 via HDMI and full frame in the EVF/LCD. Wishful thinking I reckon...
