I thought it was unPC to refer to them as the Red Chinese anymore. Crap, I can never keep up with this stuff.

One of the people in my production company speaks fluent Mandarin. He and I would be happy to take our camera to china for renting and operating, provided the production was insured of course.
Anyone have any experience shooting in china?

Not shooting, but I recently lived there for a year and a half, in the south in Guangdong province, near HK. I really loved it and found the Chinese to be really enthusiastic and open to western stuff and western people. They are good business people and there is definitely money over there.
Obviously their homegrown cinema is really taking off, and they seem to have taken the mantle from Hollywood and Europe when it comes to making beautiful, epic cinema on a large scale. Of course, having to pay thousands of extras only a couple bucks a day kind of helps! :)
