downloading now. Can't wait.

Edit: NICE!!! I actually like the shiny black! Maybe I've spent too much time in the consumer world...

Thank you Jarred, very nice.

Which brain btw? Can we see one at some point with a top handle?

Thanks again for these renders, it really helps me wrap my nugget around the endless possibilities.

Cheers and Merry Christmas,

Benz

Looks.... quite black.
Why everything in your marketing concept has to be "more obscure than overt"?
Must be a reason.

Does this really weigh less than the RED One still? It sure doesn't look like it will come in lighter, but I hope so.

At first look nothing from today's Red accessories will fit this one.
So are we talking another 20-30K including the upgrade program from Red to Epic? or this is the Scarlet?
Vegas is a long way for me.

Top mount from RED ONE base plate wont fit from RED ONE. Thats about it.

Bottom Plate and shoulder mount can work in combination with the cheese plate, all the handles, all the 19mm accessories. Even the Battery plate and Batteries from RED ONE will work on Scarlet/Epic. Even the side handles from RED ONE will work.. they actually fit on this configuration above perfectly.

Sadly, your gonna hafta part with your MiniDIN-BNC cables though.. you wont need those going forward, I hope not too many people will be upset about that one.

Im sure that all the focus pullers out there would love that camera- it looks like everything is always in focus, even at f/2.8! Unbelievable!

(FYI, theres no focus ring on the lens - everyone is too much in awe to notice!)

Are you able to comment how much less power it is roughly going to take compared to R1? The new batteries seem to be quite a lot smaller, so one may get the impression Epic will run quite long with the old batteries.

will the new cameras like epic and scarlet have a fan included in the body?

Top mount from RED ONE wont fit.

Oh man! After all that filing :innocent:

What is that lens in the render? Do I spy 10mm at the wide end? Am I dreaming? Are you guys dreaming?

Why do you need two remotes for one camera?:detective2:

BTW. Nice!

Which brings up the question...

Can each remote access separate menus simultaneously? THAT would be cool.

.....10mm at the wide end?

Nice spot...and it has Red on it.

Is this a pre-announcement for a new Red lens or a render mistake?

Looks smart as a black tack.
This render shows a return to the two-battery configuration. No doubt these sorts of details are always being reassessed as you go.

Holy Friggin Badass!
Thanks Jarred
Whaaaat, no mini-connectors? And I thought I'd actually found something wrong with the new cams and there you go and say it won't be there!
Now I am frustrated (joking)

we love mini-xlr's... but those mini-bnc's didn't go over so well :)

Steven Hilder

we love mini-xlr's...

Seriously? Many people have noted that it's near-impossible to find right-angled mini-xlr connectors to make up their own cables, plus, of course, 99% of standard mic cables use full-size XLRs.

What are the chances that there will be different versions of the IO module for reasons like this?
