Not that we have any beef with buying RED's mini XLR cable and mini to regular adapter, but I have seen a number of outfits selling single cables that do this. Has anyone tried other adapters/cables with good success, or should we stick with RED's parts? Apologies if this has been discussed before- I did search first and didn't find anything.

Thanks!

Good quality 3rd party cables should be fine with all RED Ones which have had the audio board upgrade. Those which haven't will still need to use the old RED cables with pads built in.

Forget the cables.. Check out ASLGears new panel. Replaces ALL mini ports to standard ones.

Hi,

I have still the old audioboard and only one old RED cable. Now, if I want to feed the camera with a Line signal, could I use a regular 3rd party cable or not at all?

Thanks,

Jeff

I had Ken (local Red owner, not sure if you've met him) make me some. He just ordered top-notch components and soldered them himself, cost was like $35 in parts I think. If you don't mind solder work then that's a possibility.

Lindy make them. Google for them or ebay. The XLR convertors are available also.
