I need to know if anyone else is having problems viewing 4k footage in AE.
I set my R3D settings to 4k, import the r3d file, load it on the comp, but I can't preview the file at full res, only half res. At full res it just gives me black.
I believe this also goes for 2k footage previewed at full res, black frames only.
Maybe it's a hardware issue?
I'm running an mac pro 8-core, 5 GB ram, ATI 1900xt.

Me too. Vista 64 intel quad 9550 8 gig ram. Video card is an nvidia 8600 with 512 ram.
Maybe it's the videocard not having enough memory. I can Render full 4k but can only preview at half.

I just tried and my mac is previewing 4k footage in full res 4k comp without problem. I have ATI Radeon HD 2600 graphics card, 8 core 3GHz, 8gig RAM.
Although with 8gig ram preview is about 2 sec of 4k footage:D

Preview works okay - even in 4k - multi-threading seems to cause blackframes in the sequence though ... (http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=24892)
(8core 3.2 / 16GB memory / NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT / Multibridge Extreme / OSX 10.5.6 / AE CS4 9.0.1)

I'm having the same "black frame on full 4k preview" issue on a Vista 64 SP1 Q6600 with 8gb of ram, 9800GTX+ Nvidia (178.24 Drivers)
What's Adobe/Red's take on this?

You guy's got me to check out my system. Full 4K 32bpc preview, no problem, slow, but no problem. I'm running Win32 XP SP2 with two Nvidia 8500GT's running 3 monitors. I am also running an AMD AM2 6000 dual core (in much need of an upgraded system). But it seems to be running fine.

Turn off OLPF compensation under RED settings and your missing 4k full res file will reappear.

Hey, thanks for this. That solved my black frames output for 3K and 4K at full res in both Premiere and AE.
