I'm sure everyone is aware of the new show debuting on FOX about new directors making films. Anyone on this forum involved, or know someone who is? It's a shame the series starts before RED is ready... could have been a great hookup. Maybe next season.

if you're talking about On the Lot, I had a former student of mine try out for it. Haven't heard anything. I watched some of the tryout videos on their site--they were pretty painful to watch. And the commercials..oy.

May 22nd, I think. Seems like the promo during yesterday's NASCAR race used that date.

worst show.. and i don't mean premise (since i thought of the idea and wrote down the outline word for word and registered it about 3 years ago and they completely ripped my idea off but what can i do.. they are rich i am poor so instead i will bend over and take it and remind myself to produce any idea i ever have instead of sitting on it.) *large inhale* but anyways the films i have seen so far from this show are horrid!! which is expected considering they wanted all the film makers to sign away all their entry films and anything they make on the show... including the film they make if they win

Eerrm,
If I knew someone who was on the show I wouldn't be able to tell you as Fox would sue my ass. However, a guy I know and myself are scheduled to make a film later this year and we are hoping to have our Red one available to do it on.
He may be a bit tied up though, he's got something on.... you see...?

I'm with you Zakaree. That's as far as I got into the fine-print and I was done.
I have a feeling a lot of people didn't read that part.

That's why the quality of the entrants' films was so low - it's kind of like those free 3d models you can download off 3D Cafe. Are you just going to give away something you've spent months creating?

Something similar happened to me... years ago I came up with an idea for series titled Ruidosa, NM ***** (whatever the zip code is). When the registration was up, I didn't renew, and lo and behold a series spontaneously sprang up entitled Beverly Hills 90210. I don't register things anymore. I don't even write doun scripts.

I thought John Gulager was kickass. :calm: Feast was an entertaining movie. He should direct again.
