Can't shoot 60 FPS/ 3K /16X9 / RedCode 28 / Build 17 with Red Drive (50 FPS is max)-- no problem shooting 60FPS with same specs but in 2:1 format. Am I reading the manual wrong, it says I can shoot 60 FPS in 16:9 or 2:1?

The B16 Operations Guide says you can shoot up to 50fps @ 3K 16:9 rc28 on the 16Gb CF and Red Drive, whereas the B17 version separates the two media ; claiming 50fps on the CF card and 60fps on the drive. I don't know if this is just a typo, (although I get the feeling it may be). Odd.

the 2:1 aspect ratio always carries the higher frame rates. so 60fps would be in 2:1, 50fps is 16:9

I think too it is a typo in the manual -- willl not do 60 FPS 16X9, must use 2:1 with Red Drive.

Ted,
If you have an iphone get the free isee4k application: http://www.isee4k.com/
It's great for working out all framerate , storage, lens data and other calculations.
I use it on every red shoot.
Shane.
