The Apple Store is down. I wonder what's going on? A new product?

As always, we advise not to get your hopes up or anything, the likelihood of this being, say, an early iPhone launch (and not just some pro apps stuff) is slim to say the least.
Sounds like Engadget isn't interested in pro apps stuff but loves the iPhone...

Looks like it's not a modest upgrade. And with Adobe Photoshop CS3, it actually performed faster than a 2.33 GHz 15" MacBook Pro.

Still a modest upgrade... The numbers between it and the Macbook Pro are very similar and expected due to the MBP having the slower hard drive.
I question the guy who wrote this article... He trips up in a few places and lets on that he really has no clue what he's talking about...
"for example, the MacBook continues to run on a Core 2 Duo chip instead of a processor from Intel’s newly released “Santa Rosa” chipset. "
Seriously, some of these tech rags should have editors with some inkling of computer tech and current roadmaps so that such idiotic statements don't get printed. There's a couple more in there. But he just wrote the article and is reporting the benchmarks found by their "lab".

I wouldn't use Engadget for a trusted source for Apple anymore. Apple is seriously mad at them about some unsubstantiated rumors they posted that cost them like 4 Billion dollars in market cap in a day which they are just now recovering. So yeah, Engadget gets no love from Apple no more.
