View Full Version : Seeking Feedback On My New Producer's Web Site

I was originally going to commission a new site for myself, since I am not a programmer or designer by any stretch of the imagination. But after watching a few online CS3 tutorials, I decided to give it a try myself. Now I would like to get some feedback from the never-failing Reduser community.

EDIT

Website is currently under revision. Thanks for all the comments!

Hey Man,
Great job for what you said is your first attempt. I like the simplicity of the overall design and the ease of navigation. It has a clean aesthetic that works very well, the whole less is more kind of approach. Nicely done. I also checked out your demo reel, great work on there as well. Have a good one.

Thank you so much for your comments. They are very encouraging. This indeed is my very first web page; but I am not going to lie... it did take me a while to do all of it and learn the ins and outs of dreamweaver. I am so grateful for Lynda.com and their excellent training videos. All you do is just sit through them and you become an instant programer. :pirate:

By the way,

A NOTE TO OTHERS:

Maybe I jumped the gun when I said the 'the never-failing Reduser community'.
This thread has been viewed close to a hundred times yet only one comment...
Don't be afraid to give feedback. I promise I won't bite. :whistling:

Manfred,

i like the overall design of your site. i am not so thrilled by the typo you chose for your name - reminds me of "the A Team".
but i love the aaton minima you have on your page - my favourite super16mm camera ;-)

regards,
martin

Thanks for the responses. I think you are right about the type. That was the first thing I did when I started with the page... And I wasn't 100% happy with it. Then I just did't get to changing it. The whole site is sans serif so I'll switch it to something in that type group.

As far as a typo on the first page... There IS one... It's the word "Pproducer". How embarasing... And I can't change it until tonight. This is killing me!!!

As far as 'opportunities' being misspeled... I don't see it. Is the 'n' not loading?

EDIT

Never mind. I just saw the 'comig'. Man, am I dislexic. The home page is the only page I didn't get proof-read.

No, it says "Comig" instead of "Coming"

Oops, I missed your "Pproducing." :-)

Thanks, Kevin. I will change this stuff when I get my computer to some wifi. Right now I am posting this from my iPhone because the stupid Panera in Santa Monica where I'm at has their "free" wifi all jammed up. :angry01:

I just realized something... I got everything proof-read except the home page because I probably thought that I couldn't possibly mess up so few words... Well, I ended messing up 2 out of 7 words! How's that for a track record for someone passing themselves off as a producer. Now I feel completely at home here in Hollywood. :ninja:

Okay, after some heavy negotiations involving give and take and an extra panini purchase, I managed for the Panera people to reset their wifi. So now my page has been fixed! Except for the 'A team' thing which I'll get to tonight. Thanks again and keep the observations comig... :umm:
