Please help.
New to RED. I have transferred my Red Media to Pro Res 22 (HQ).
But the clips are coming out with varying Aspect Ratios and Data Rates. Some are 2048 x 1024 at 22MB/s , some are 3072 x 1536 at 45MB/s. some of the clips were recorded at 60fps for slo mo... so the high data is understandable, but some of my regular clips are coming out with the variations... Can somebody please explain why this would be, and if it is going to be a problem.
Thanks!!

Did you record the regular frame rate at 4k and the high speed at 2k? This could explain some of it.
How did you transcode the footage? What program? All at once or one clip at a time?
Lots of ways to make this happen. If we can narrow in on it I'm sure there is an answer.

I was not on the shoot. So I do not know how the various footage was recorded.
I am importing with log and transfer through FCP and it is very possible that I had the slo mo clips and some of the non slo mo clips in the same transfer cue. Is it possible that the NON slo mo somehow was affected by being in the same cue as the slo mo?

Hey Jim,
That explains a lot. My guess is that there is a combination of 4k, 3k, and 2k, which if brought in at 100% would create different sizes.
I thought FCP brought everything in at a standard 2k so I'm a bit surprised.
Did you use the older L&T or the new Color workflow?
Bring the clips into Red Alert or Red Cine and they will tell you exactly what you have, including all the meta data from the shoot.
Please take your time to understand how Red functions. Otherwise you won't get the best results.
Best of luck!

Thanks so much for the help. 3 days ago, I knew nothing. Now I have, at least, some understanding of what I'm looking at. Thrown into the fire here, with a ridiculous deadline. I've opted to skip the pro res transcoding and cut from the proxies to deal with the upres on the back end. I had to start cutting!
Thanks for the advice!

good idea. If you use Color, all you have to do is SEND TO COLOR, then reset the specs for 2k or 1080. It picks up the original R3D files and grade from there.
There's even a RED ROOM in the primary area.
