I rented an 18-85 lens from IndieRentals (http://indierentals.com) this weekend. It's a very large lens, but the images look great. Here's a quick test video I shot of our dog Goldie. I did some color correcting on it in Color and exported it as a 2k 2:1 ProRes 422(HQ) Quicktime. This is a 100mb H.264 Quicktime:

I didn't see a lot of 18-85 footage, so I thought I'd throw this up on the forum.
Shot at 4K 2:1, 23.98 fps, build 17, Red #4809.

The footage looks nice. Thanks for taking the time to show the example. Is it possible to put some footage up with some out of focus areas to show what the bokeh looks like.
thanks,

Here are some bokeh tests done outdoors of some plants. This is at T2.9 with a higher-speed shutter to get the light levels down (no filters).

Josh,
Thanks for the tests and the effort you have gone to, to me they are very helpful in learning more about this lens.

Josh,
Thanks for the test. I like what I see.
What was the shutter speed on the rack focus shots?
Did you do any active zoom shots?

I don't remember the exact shutter speed, I believe it was around 1/300. I basically set the aperture open at T2.9 and then increased the shutter until the light levels looked ok (just trying to get as shallow DOF as possible for the test). I don't have any active zoom shots from then, sorry.
