Was trying to track some literature on wavelet codecs, if anyone knows some good books/links, i'd be grateful.

Back to the topic!

A good set of color/image tutorials can be found here (http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials.htm). Simple, really nice.

A good color correction book: 'Color Correction for Digital Video' by Steve Hullfish/Jaime Fowler.

Best book by far I've read on acting/directing actors is 'True & False' by David Mamet.

Best book on writing is gotta be 'Story' by Robert McKee.

Any books anyone would recommend on shooting and properly exposing for RAW?

Excellent link, David! Not just for me, but great to forward to clients as well. Thanks!

I'd like to learn more about wavelet compression technology as well.
I've found a few things through google, but not much.

Anybody got anything else?

Andreas Wittenstein (who makes Sheer, a mathematically lossless codec) has some good posts about compression on the CML lists.

2- (IMO) The most practical thing to do regarding wavelet codecs is to look at the visual results, and to encode your own stuff in the codec.

In particular, try this test pattern:
http://glennchan.info/Proofs/dvinfo/480b.png
(720x480 pixels, make sure it doesn't get re-scaled)
Any 4:2:2 codec will wet itself when it sees the zone plate (though it's rare that you'd run into such a situation).

3- Wikipedia has some good info and pictures too on wavelets and jpeg2000.
