Okay, I may be a little late in getting excited about this, but I have to say that I am having a blast with this newly enabled feature.

Now if I can be a spoiled brat child and say...

Would it be possible to export .RLK files from REDALERT? This would save a whole bunch of manual number punching.

...but really, what I wanted to say was...thanks!

Wait a minute. Upload looks? Did I miss a new Redcine update? Or are you referring to the ability to transfer looks between cameras?

Saving looks to the little SD cards.

Not REDCINE.

I'm too tired to look around, but can somebody point me to where I can find how to achieve this? Is this in the Operating Manual? (too lazy to check...)

It is in the operating manual.

Look<export.

Make sure the SD card is less than 1GB.

I have been manually inputting settings based on a look I create in REDALERT.

You still have to manually enter the values, but now they can be saved to SD cards.

I think this is new to B17...or did I miss the memo?

Still it would be great to export a look as an RLK file and then copy it to the card for uploading...but you can't have everything - at least not all at once!

What format does the Look file need to be in?

.Look?

This isn't a new feature. It's been there since build 15 (iirc)...

So how is this done? You save the RLX or RSX file onto the SD card?

You set your look in camera.

Put an SD card (under 1GB) in to the SD slot.

Then go to "look" and "export".

It is saved as an .RLK file to the card.

You can then rename the file on your computer. Just keep the .RLK extension.

Since B15 huh? Wow-I missed that announcement.

This might be a stupid question, but wouldn't your in camera look be transfered by the metadata to RC & RA with the footage? Why move it there by card?

Or, are you going the other direction? ie: create the look in RC / RA and then move that look on to the camera for future shots?

Is this just RedAlert or dose RedCine do it too?

This is more about creating a "library" of looks on an SD card.

You can take looks you create in REDALERT and then manually input them in to the camera, then save it. All you have to do next time you want to use that look is insert the SD card and select Look, then upload.

My initial request in this thread is to be able to circumvent the process of "maually" setting the adjustments from REDAERT in to the camera. I'd love to be able to just save it as an .RLK file, put it on my SD card, then load it in to the camera.

I don't use REDCINE so I am not sure - maybe this is possible?

Ah, that makes sense, good Idea. I have a library of looks for my F900.

I will be interested to know the answer.

I'm trying to save look on the SD card and it doesnt work. I use the one that came with the camera. Not in "lock" position.

The message appear say that the card is full, but when mount on my computer, its empty.

Do i have to do a special thing to make it work ? Ive tried to format the card in Mac OS, but seem to only accept Fat32.

Thanks

Hi Etienne!

You have to format it in FAT16

Hi there RED users,

Do we still have to do this manually? Has there been an update or is there any software that can convert .RSX to .RLK for the RED ONE?

Would be very cool!

All the best,

Tom

Still waiting.

On another note...I seem to be unable to "upload looks" from my SD card as I described earlier in this thread? My camera has been upgraded in the meantime?

Even though I have an SD card in there under Video<Look it says "none available"

Any thoughts?

Problem solved. I "renamed" the folder called "Profiles".

It also works great for multi camera shoots and giving each camera the exact same look...;)
