Can anyone who has been to a "Red Day" tell me what is discussed and demonstrated, what their impressions of it are?
I have been invited, I'm in Arizona, so I would have to fly in and out and rent a Car.
I am trying to determine if it is worth the cost
any info will help
Thanks

Dave, it's best to ask a RED rep. We that have been (or have we) are under oath.

I did, I got only location and times
Then can you tell me if it's worth the expence?
Why the secrecy?

A lot of the information at the Red Day I attended in October was stuff I already had found on RedUser, information from attending NAB08, and personal experience (since I had already had my Red cam for a few weeks before attending the Red Day). I flew from the East Coast, had a hotel and car rental. It was a good experience, but I didn't get as much out of it as I was hoping. My basic thought was concerning - "what might I be missing?" and it was better for me to know more than I thought than to miss out on tons of essential info that might be revealed at Red day.
Don't know if that helps... hope it does though.

No. You are not to supposed to talk about it/post about it at all.

The first rule of RED DAY is that you do not talk about RED DAY. That also means talking about when and where you have been invited to.

If this is the case how does one get invited?? I read a post from jim that RED won't be at NAB 09 and will have a RED Day instead. I was going to go to NAB this year to see hand hold a RED Scarlet and get more info on the unit. So what is a guy like me going to do????

Confusion abounds! No, not THAT Red Day! It's another Red Day that owner's aren't supposed to talk about. So don't confuse Red Day with RED DAY. That's something totally different. Is that clear?

Technically thats true but, as one who's been to RED Day, I think it's more about them not wanting a bunch of people showing up at once. They need to concentrate their educational efforts, in a manageable way, on those that have purchased the camera. There is no blood bond and secret oath to kill other camera manufactures. :innocent:

there's another thread out there that we discussed this fairly well. RED explained that we were allowed to talk about RED day, just not where and when

OK, we only ask if you are invited to a RED DAY at RED, that you do not share details of time, date, place. We can only accommodate so many people per session so "unannounced" guests would have to be turned away. Hence, by invite only. For these RED DAYs, you are invited by serial number batch to come in to RED for hardware and workflow demos/instruction in a "get to know RED" fashion.
The "other" RED DAY Jim has posted about in "NAB 2009" context is different, correct. Details on that particular event will be posted as they become available.
Hope that clarifies...
