So I find myself in the enviable position of owning a pair of Sachtler ENG 2 CF sticks as well as a pair of Oconnor 25L sticks. To accompany these I have a Sachtler 18p and a DV12.

I have decided that I certainly no longer need a DV12 fluid head. That's going on ebay.

What I have not decided is if I want to keep both sets of sticks.

1) I like the Sachtler sticks because I am used to them.

2) I like the looseness of the Sachtler sections for lowering and raising the tripod. I am able to change height by myself without an assistant.

3) The Oconnor sticks are stiff which I don't like. They are hard to expand/contract and sort of make a little "rocking chair" noise when they settle which I hate. Maybe they will loosen up with use?

4)Plus for Oconnor is that they set up to a max height of like 6 feet which is amazing. I also really like the spreader design. The little triangle thing is great once you get used to it.

I think I will probably keep both sticks and maybe at some point pick up a 1030HD head and at that point sell the Sachtler sticks and the 18p if it turns out a fully configured Red will play ok on the 1030HD.

I guess the question is am I killing my resale on the DV12 by not selling it with the sticks?

Do I really need two sets of CF sticks?

Should I sell the Sachtler sticks and the DV12 and buy a set of aluminum oconnor legs and a 100 to 150 adapter?

People who love the 25L please chime in...

From personal experience there are more tripods than heads on ebay so I wouldn't worry about either selling the DV12 separately or even buying some 2nd hand legs to stick with it to get a higher price for a complete kit. If you can grab a really really good bargain on some lesser legs it might be worth picking them up and selling with the head as a set. Personally I doubt it'll effect the sale of the head if you didn't though.

I think it will be a tougher sale without the sticks, you are really going to narrow the pool of potentential buyers
