Hi
Basically I thought it would cool if I could get my AVID edits into Color. The edit house I work at has both and I didn't want to cost my company more money for a proper grade suite (the work goes elswhere for the moment). So I thought why not try to get these two to play nice. Well I'm not the only one and I wont be the last to try and get these programes to work together. The first stage was easy enough:
REDrushes to 2K REFS + AVID ALE
ALE INGEST OF REFS TO DNX HD
OFFLINE EDIT
Now the cool stuff. If you want to use MonkeyExtract to create a new edl and render your media thats the best way to go, the new version rules. I did that but accidently screwed up my render settings so the edl came in with no media. Idiot.
So I went to the RED website for some reason and downloaded the Red Final Cut Studio installer, it was new, I didn't have it so I installed it. I restarted color and brought in the edl.
BRAINWAVE
I browsed the source media directory to the folder I kept my .R3D files in.
Ahhhhhhhhh
Working sequence. From Avid To Color. Yep. Pretty happy.
