will that fit into my shaver?
Jim - how about some T-shirts??? Send those designs over to Cafepress.com and let them do the fulfillment.
I would love a few RED spiders, bombs, logos, on my t-shirts and coffee mugs.

Maybe you could send some of that stuff, including The Spider
to O and do some more cotton prints.

phenomenal..
It looks like one of those flying weapons they throw about and catch betweeen their teeth in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon...:pinch:
But I'm intrigued! I didn't think that the RED cam would have it's own iris. I thought we would use the iris on the lens to set the f stop..
Or am I being a dumb ass:usd:
On the subject of luminosity: I have read in this excellent forum that the RED has been rated at around 320ASA. Unfortunately I AM a dumb ass:innocent: ... The only reference that an young fool like me would understand is a comparison with ludicrously cheap dv cameras. My much loved old Panasonic DVX 100 used to be very sensitive to light; I could rock up to an interview inside a big house in London in January and use the practicals, and the fading light from the window to light the interview; which was kind of pretty actually since natural and found light always changes. My Sony Z1 by comparison requires me to use gain when I filming in the Sahara at noon:w00t: Ok I joke.. but I never film at anything beyond f4 on the thing. I have heard that our beloved RED Leader has used every camera under the sun - respect - I would love to know how the RED would shape up next to the DVX100 please (on sensitivity to light only...)

Can I trade in my titanium R for a platinum (or unobtanium) one of these on a chain made of a S35mm filmstrip with the Red logo burned into each frame?

I wonder if this ends up as the new portal entrance to the Red bunker.
People will travel from all over the globe just to walk through it.

Wao.. it is a dreadful ninja weapon. Once I get my RED, I could really claim to everyone that I have a serious weapon in hand.

Really IRISerhead! Is this this kind of woodoo thing, that float through the brains of the REDheads while they are waiting for the right board?

Let's pretend it's part of the RED camera... now, everyone's suggestions?
Can you mount it on the top, side, back or bottom of the Red camera?
How heavy is it?
You might get cut when looking through the viewfinder.
I don't think this fits with the cage very well.
How do you fly this thing? Or does it simply hover like a chopper?
Does it act like a windmill - how much power can it create?

My biggest concern is that a half-million in liability coverage just won't cut it for a set with this accessory. I see big lawsuits in the future... we're all doomed.

LOL... that could delay RED for another 5 weeks!!! We better post a safety sticker on it - "DO NOT TOUCH while SPINNING. DECAPITATION POSSIBLE."

Please correct me If I am wrong...
But aren't the tooth cam mechanisms backwards or on the wrong side?
The teeth should rotate outward and stop when the rotation reaches a terminal velocity.
When the rotation stops the spring-loaded teeth should retract into the circle.
To my view, the cams are backwards.
This would prevent accurate exposure when flying at high speeds towards unimaginable targets preventing the proper amount of light to reach the Mysterium Sensor yielding inaccurate photon accumulation resulting in an inordnate amount of color correction from an oversaturation of err...Red...
Now..back to your regularly scheduled program... :waaa:

ROFL,
Okay I just have to...LOL.
I don't like it, I'm afraid it will loose me .00125 stops of light there by making the effective dynamic range of my Red one a mere 25 stops!!! This is ludicrous it cannot be tolerated!! I also fear the addition of the teeth will result in to clean of an image and I for prefer the horrific image degrading qualities of quarter sized film grain spattered across my image, as I find it more organic and it detracts from the production qualities of my films :) I vote the design immediately be re-worked NOW and the whole camera be offered at $5,000 price cut, due to the poor iris design!!!

Will it come with a cleaning kit? I'm concerned about dried blood disrupting the iris function.
How long will it going run on batteries?
