here it is...

that's how it looks like if you don't nail the focus

if you get the focus more or less right, thats the look

...which explains the "Modeschule Material" box I was about to ask about :)

Thanks for sharing!

That LOMO's contrast looks gorgeous to my untrained eyes. The Cooke looks super nice too.

About the Argenieux, is 1/25th at ISO320 and f1.09 on the meter? How can you tell what the meter was saying about the light? Sorry I have no clue about this stuff, but I would really appreciate it if someone could explain to me what the readout was, or what to make of it. I guess the skin tones have at least decent exposure, right? And I take it light was ridiculously minimal. What was being used for light?

I remember my Dad mentioned that Olympus had a f0.95 for their OM SLRs back in their day. I wonder how bokeh looks like if you threw the focus it to infinity?

Thanks for sharing XiaoSu

Light meter looks to be saying f "one and nine tenths", 25 fps, iso 320.

so the 1.09 is the f-stop it is telling you you will need to get proper exposure?

we set the light to f1.4, so the key side of the face would be one stop over what you put on the lens

so yes we got a decent exposure, it was a 650w lamp dimmed to almost it's lowest possible value, hence the orangish color.

XiaoSu Han,

forget this Angenieux f/0.95 and get Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 Aspherical

Test here>>> (http://www.purgatorymagazine.com/_downloads/lenstests/Noctilux095_720p02H264.mov)

that looks very sharp!

now it's use is quite limited for what I would want all that speed... it is a shame you can't keep dof deep and make it fast :)

USlatin,

always you have to consider limitations shooting wide open (short DOF)

and also backwards shooting with still lenses like a bump effect, short focus trow, etc..

but once you get skilled to avoid that limits then you are ready to roll.

indeed... these are some nice lenses you guys are putting up... the .95 would be very useful at times, and for extra shallow dof when you want to isolate those white hairs in my beard's extreme close ups...

I want one of those guns too :)
