Chromatic Aberration canceling for REDRAW

Graeme, how difficult will be to built the CA canceling utility for REDRAW in REDCINE?

I just bought new Photoshop CS3 and the lenses correction utility there is excellent much better then in CS2 version.
Cancels it to the point where CA is invisible.
I was testing new Canon lenses and posted the pictures from the test in lenses thread, look at the hangar (white building) on the left side of the frame.

It also improves colors consistency and sharpness.

Ditto that question Graeme, I mentioned this to you at NAB, but I am sure you were overwhelmed with wishlists. We who are thinking of using Canon/Nikon stills would love to know this. Also, if this is not practical right now as a RED project - is it more feasible as a separate product, or as plug-in for FCP if this would give you a larger universe?

Panasonic has actually added automatic Chromatic Aberration Correction (when using specific lenses from fujinon and Canon) in new the HVX-500 camera. So at least someone is doing this for motion pictures as well. Also do you know of existing software that does this for motion pictures that we might not be aware of.

I suspect you might want to include presets for some specific lenses (such as the RED cines) and some still lenses that can't be covered by RED lenses - i.e. for the Superwide 10-22 Canon, and 12-24 Nikon which would give us an extreme wide angle solution and where CA is particularly a problem.

It is not so much the issue of still lenses only.
It is issue of wide angle lenses period.
Even the best cine lenses below 16mm are completely unsuitable for even 2K format without correcting CA. Picture looks ugly and colors are tinted.
