So is anyone shooting with Fujinon lens? If so what lens and how is it? I would love to see photos and frame grabs.

Thanx

At various times over the past 17 months I've shot with my RED cameras I've used the following Fujinon 2/3" HD EFP/ENG zooms:

42x9.7
22x7.3
16x6.5
13x4.5

I used them with the RED B4 adaptor, and obviously shot 2k. The results were very good. If you search this forum you'll find shots I posted of the 22x, 16x, and 13x on one of my RED cameras.

Good HD lenses work very well with RED. They're useful for some projects that finish in 1080p, but especially for EFP-style projects that finish in 1080i, 720p, and SD.

The operability and functionality of the powered zoom rocker with those lenses is especially useful for mobile EFP-style shooting. POwer to the zoom motor is supplied by a hirose to LEMO auxiliary cable offered by RED, which plugs into the upper (default) or lower (if you program the camera for it) 12v auxiliary bus on the back of the camera.

Steve, Thanx for the quick reply. I did some searching under your postings and found a couple of images that really helped me.

Do all of the functions on the lens work like Record and Iris?

And I don't mean to ask a stupid question too... But I have a few Digibetas laying around and can't sell them to the overseas market for nothing. But they have an A17x7.8BERM 2/3" lens on them. I know it's for a standard def camera but do you think it might work with the B4 and a Red?

Thanx for all of your help Steve.

I've been using a Fujinon 13X4.5 with my Red for 2K work and it looks great. I'm very happy with the results. Here's a video I did using that lens and the Red. It's on youtube so the quality really sucks (though I think there is a "watch higher quality" option under the video player screen.
