Apple COLOR jumbles R3D clips

I've been using the proxies in FCP to edit and send to COLOR without any problems - even clips with spanned R3D files. Today I encountered my my first problem. In COLOR the first clip shows flash frames of all the clips in the sequence, then the subsequent clips are in a random and sometimes repeating order.
I realize that the approved process is to use log & transfer. I just wanted to see if anyone else has seen this issue.

Yes, if you export an EDL from FCP and then import that into Color it should solve the problem.

It's not spanned clips that cause the problem, but using a clip whose In/Out spans that gap. Using an EDL clears that up oddly enough.

Can you guys tell me which kind of EDL to export? Final Cut gives me three options: CMX 340, CMX 3600, GVG 4 Plus. Under the "Sorting" menu, do I choose "Master" or "Source"?

I'm new to EDL's so if someone could list the steps, I'd really appreciate it.

I've always used CMX 3600.
