Has anyone done this? If so, can you share your experiences and discuss? I want to shoot an upcoming music video in 3D using two RED One cameras, if possible.
I have a contact who can manufacture a custom mount to be used on a Steadi-Cam, as well as a remote focus system to control both lenses simultaneously.
We're shooting next Saturday in Seattle, WA.
Any advice? Know someone in the area I should contact?

P+S Technik 3D RIG . It is what you need.

hi,
next Saturday? 3D Shooting? without any experience in 3D?
be careful, a 3D production is not easy, is necessary to do tests, tests and more tests, ok you have two Red One's + P+S Technik 3D RIG, and 3D preview? and synchronization among two Red's? and 3D post?
two days to solve all this and others problems, I don't believe!!
you need a 3D consultant, good luck.

Not tomorrow, next Saturday. We are doing tests through the week preceding the production, but I wanted to figure out if it were possible to do a side-by-side with two reds, so we could go that route instead of others. We decided not to shoot with two RED ones, because we couldn't figure out how to get the sensors close enough together. Using the P+S Technik rig wouldn't allow shooting on Steadi-Cam either.
Ended up going with another solution.

An update, in case there was any interest.
The way we ended up going with producing our 3D image is two Iconix 2k cameras

Since we're doing our music video in entirely one take, I first thought it would make the most sense to do the first good take using a single RED One for a solid "fail safe" deliverable to the label. Then I thought, "ok, so what if we don't get a chance to make everything happen correctly twice?" So, we're mounting the two Iconix cameras to the top of the RED while it's on the SteadiCam. I'll post photos of the quirky set up soon. Test footage as soon as I get a chance.
