We are preparing to launch our new website, and our new face to our company. In preparing for the launch we are creating three new demo reels, narrative, commercial and corporate. Since Narrative is the direction we want to take things in this next year have have focused first on our new narrative reel.
Please view our new narrative reel and let us know your thoughts.

Looks major.
Maybe a little too long.

Hey Stefan -

Looks great, but it feels more like a DP's reel (long one).

Narrative reel - tell a story with your chosen examples when doing a montage reel. You might want to change the format from montage to various scenes. Play a scene snippet that demo's the narrative, cut to another and then another. Show the storytelling.

You know it's funny. I always find myself looking at other's demo reels and saying "great reel, but maybe a bit too long", and after even all of that I still end up doing the same thing. Our goal to start with was 1 1/2 minutes, but we found that in order to get all the footage we needed for the different markets we are going after that 2 minutes fit better.
Maybe a bad decision?
Was it too long to watch all the way through?
Was it engaging?

Shawn, it's possible that narrative reel is the wrong title for this as the services we are offering are mainly directed at Directors. We are offering ourselves as a full production crew to Directors and production companies with scripts written and looking to make it happen. This is basically an example of the narrative work that we have shot as DP's, and producers. Maybe another title would fit it better?
