Hi There!

Iīm using Premiere CS4 and Iīm new to red

Can you compare the redraws to raw footage from still life photography. Technically it must be - ok. But does working in red cine damage the pictures less than working on them in premiere/AE for color correction etc.??

I couldnīt really find any info about it

Red Cine and CS4 aren't really comparable tools. Red Cine is a grading application only, while CS4 is an editing suite. When it comes to CS4 and Red Cine as far as color grading, they currently work in two different ways. While Red Cine works directly with the metadata of the file to color correct, adjust exposure etc. CS4 works directly with the RGB data of the file. Since no changes are permanent until rendered in both applications, nothing in the original R3D file is changed and can always be opened up as the default image. Hopefull we will soon get tools withing CS4 to work directly with the metadata of the file within Premiere or After effects. This would greatly speed up quick color corrections without adding lengthy render times.
