Would RED sue some company that started marketing a REd camera? I think so. Panasonic must be asleep.

Then everyone would sue everyone. The color Red would sue Red. A Canon would sue Canon. Apples would sue Apple and the list goes on and on and on. It's only a part of the name anyway. How about Tascam HD-P2.

Apple Records did sue Apple Computer, not for selling music, but for having SOUND on their computers: Hence the sound named Tsosumi on Macs...

But yeah, it's downright stupid.

I could be mistaken, but, "DVX" is just a model number, not a trademark. "P2" is a trademark. "XDCAM" is a trademark. "CineAlta" is a trademark. But "HDW-XXX" is just a model number. There are many similar model numbers among different products in the electronics industry.

"Called the 'Swiss Army Knife of digital cameras' the Concord's DVx is a 6-in-1 multi-functional digital video camera. The DVx features a 230 rotating lens with high quality MPEG-4 video compression and a 2 Megapixel digital still camera. " --from the Concord site.

Yeah, a new 6-in-1 gadget, woo hoo! Does six different things, six times crummier than any one-thing gadget on the market! Although that thing sure packs a LOT of lenses into a relatively small form factor!

George Harrison was a little sensitive about being sued since he lost the copyright infringement suit over My Sweet Lord by the authors of "He's so fine" (do lang do lang do lang).

He wrote a song called Sue me sue you blues.
