I just went down there and learned that another sales rep sold my lens to someone else at 3pm. Son of a bitch... That Tokina is very popular right now

Darnit! I hate it when that happens. This lens isn't so easy to come by, for the looks of it. I got mine shipped directly from Tokyo. And I later sold it to some friends in Switzerland. Good luck, Richard!

Tico, how did you buy direct from Tokyo and what did you pay if you don't mind me asking? The sales rep at Samys seemed pretty sorry for the mistake and said they would do all that they could to get me the next Tokina, I'm just not sure how often they ship them over..

Richard, I got my Tokinas from the Matsuiya Store in Tokyo, where I buy cameras and lenses quite often (paid around $650 last year). They have a good selection, great service and their used lenses are as minty clean as they come. Bought a few Nikon AI-S lenses from them in the past. They ship EMS, which is reliable and reasonably fast. They have an eBay store front, but you can also deal with them directly. I actually bought two Tokinas from them, one Canon and one Nikon.

No idea when they will ship again. We have the Canon mount versions in stock, not the Nikon.

I got mine from Adorama in NYC, place the order online and sit back...soon enough a tokina will pop up at your front door. They called 3 weeks later and tried to cancel order cause it was back ordered but I was in no rush and said to keep my original order time and date. Sure enough a week later or so it arrived. Great wide angle lens imo and worth the wait. I did notice you maybe able to find it on ebay at some premium?
