I've heard mixed things about this lens - is it usable on RED, or does it porthole too badly?

Or the 14mm?

We have a 10mm Ultraprime, which I understand is the same principal lens design as the 10mm standard. Also have a 14mm Standard.
Both lenses look really good on our Red Ones. Minor amount of port holing which is absolutely normal for these lenses at wider apertures. Goes away as you stop down.

I agree with John.
I have the older 10mm Zeiss Standard. Minor portholing. I used to have a 12mm (until it was stolen) and have had two 14mm's. Again, minor portholing. Unless you were doing a white-cyc gag I doubt if it's too objectionable.
Remember that a great amount of time gets spent in telecine rooms trying to ADD portholing and vignetting... unless that's not what you're going for.
Cheers,
Harry

Thanks for the info, guys. Probably will be running with Superspeeds on the next show, and needed something wider than an 18 without breaking the bank, so its good to know that the old Standards will be acceptable.
