We already know RED is on it's way. The RED crew is first rate and Commander Jannard's outstanding loyalty (e.g. refund policy) and unprecedented openess to his current and future customers is confidence-inspiring to say the least. The sample footage is even more thrilling.

I'm talking about something else entirely. Something most of us know is coming as a studio and theater business approach to counter home theaters and DVD piracy. Something the RED ONE or it's slightly upgraded siblings will produce with effortless mastery. Something that could be a major differentiator for filmmakers able to jump in early.

We are talking about 3D now. The New York Times is talking about 3D now. Spielberg, Cameron, Jackson, Katzenberg, Zemekis are all talking about and shooting 3D now. The link follows:

Standard Disclaimer: Neither 3D nor 4K nor perfect color, focus, sound, or magic beans will replace a good story, well acted and skillfully edited.
We knew, we know, we will not forget.

The new 3D technologies are supposed to be much better. I would like to check it out. So far, personally, I have not seen any movies or shows in 3D that I liked the "feel" of. They always have that layered look. Anyone see something that I must check out?

Haha, noobs should be forced to read and sign off on a disclaimer like this when they show up. It could say something like:

"I, noob, do hereby understand that the members of the reduser forum are aware of the fact that a 4K sensor is not going to improve the talents of their actors, set designers, sound mixers, crafty people, nor will it raise the talent level of the crew or screenwriters."

I'll sign it

Just saw "Meet the Robinsons" in D-3D. I realize that it was all rendered(not shot), but the new radial polarization technology totally kicks ass.

3d makes me dizzy (i like to be a rebel and take off the 3d glasses every now and then... but then I almost lose my lunch)

I'm all for 3D, but I'm still waiting for a good 3D technology that actually delivers the goods. Radial polarization D-3D isn't it....

Holographic motion will be the real 3D.
No glasses needed.
