Woke up this morning and saw some new news are Red.com. Ted Schilowitz is touring with the Apple Final Cut Pro tour showing the Peter Jackson short. Now I'm really excited I had decided to register for all of the final cut pro events in NYC!!! I don't know how much space is left, but now everyone has even more reasons to go and see the Final Cut Pro tour.

LOL, I'm going to be in Dallas in July, but not until the day after the FCS2 event. The only reason I'd even go is to see the PJ short in full and to try and meet Ted.

"Ted Schilowitz of RED Digital Cinema is traveling coast to coast with Apple showing off the Peter Jackson's movie"

Arghhh, coast to coast isn´t good enough for me... I sure would love to see Ted on the european tour, Oslo, Norway on may 30th to be specific!

Yeah, what's up with that? Pretty meager tour on behalf of Apple... But then again, I don't think they're having any troubles selling this upgrade. :)

they list Seattle as a tour city, but when you go to register, there is no Seattle on the registration.

it would be nice to have an option closer to home, like Denver...how do we light the torches and storm the fortress?

I'll put in a vote for Denver!

We want "Crossing the Line!" (Those Apple guys can come too, I guess) ... :P

hmmm - Denver, lobby with Ted, Call FVESCO and get Kay to get on it (although they are a huge Sony rep)..... get Jerry Hofmann to work it thru the FCP user group.....

I was on the wait list for LA, and when it was too late I saw this post....

With the benefit of hindsight, if I were you I'd go early and try to get in even without a reservation.

I just signed up for the whole day event in Washington DC. I'm wondering how thorough the demos will be.

Does anyone have an idea whether RED will be playing in the FCS tours in Canada? I've signed up for the one in Montreal, and it would be great if the RED demo (as well as Ted of course) were included.

The whole day event was not worth it. They covered all the stuff in the first part of the tour and the second was simply a repeat but just showing one single project.

But...that said. The tour overall was awesome! they showed some really cool NEW things in Sound Track Pro along with Motion. They didnt touch to much on DVD Studio or Compressor, but other then that, the new Final Cut Studio 2 looks to be an awesome upgrade. I just ordered mine two days ago.

And the RED part of the presentation was totally awesome. Well worth it (times 10). Ted is simply one of the most energetic inspiring people. He grabs everyones attention in the blink of an eye.

Oh, but this is not the same as Apple and Red tour. I've been to this one in Zagreb, Croatia and they mentioned Red once or twice but there was no PJ's movie. I'm afraid that same will happen on all stations of FCS2 tour in Europe.

June 28th
3 - 6 P. M. is the first half.
7:30 - 9 P. M. is the second half.
The schedule doesn't mention RED.

A bit of advice; don't drive a big SUV, because the parking garage at the Hotel in Miami was designed for compact cars only. You'll see what I mean.

I am desparate to see Crossing the Line.

Maybe RED could ship us a copy of it on our Reddrives when they ship? That way Jim and PJ could be sure we see it in 4k uber-res

The screening happens towards the beginning of the whole presentation where they talk about ProRes422
