Hello,
With the newest release of redcine for the PC, (v3.1.8) one of the updates to the program was that it can now export audio from the R3D files, but can avid accept thoe quicktime files with audio?
I read somewhere that avid cannot accept the audio because of it's higher bitrate or something...
Is that still an issue?
I will be using media composer 3.0 to cut a short this weekend and want to make sure we will have audio if we record it straight to the red.

Thanks!

Don't know of any issues with REDCINE audio. There used to be an issue with QT's dierctly from camera on the Mac because they were not 16bit or 24bit 48khz in their native state. That was addressed in MC v3.1 and later. For earlier versions of MC there was an "Avid compatible audio" setting in REDrushes.

No RED products can yet export the audio track metadata into the ALE or XML - that still needs to be modified in MC once the ALE has been imported and before the batch import.
