Cheap shipping to australia - suggestions?

Does anyone have their cheapest 'legal' solutions when shipping non Red items to Oz?
It seems US Postal is cheap but when it hits this side, clearance company like to charge $150 on top of duties/tax.
Suggestions?

Dave, we've used FedEx and only get about a $55 customs clearance fee...

FedEx or DHL has worked best for me to ship things from the states to Australia. But shipping from here to there is never cheap. In fact, I find it to be downright criminally expensive. I can ship items to and from the heart of mainland China for a lot, lot less.
