Neat, but we have the 14-24 N lens at the studio, and nearly every time we put it on, its too damned wide.

However, an amazing lens, and I'm sure a 10-18 would have lots of people interested.

Yep.

I hope this thing exists. I wants me to have one.

...No such thing as "too wide".

I second "no such thing as too wide".

10mm on full frame... Nice.

A 10-18mm Zoom that overlaps with the 14-24mm and happens to look identical to it...?
Sorry, I have no gullibility left in me...

...and STOP it with the Photoshopping!!!

The front section of the lens on the pic if definitely different/bigger than 14-24. I have one of those...

Outside of being full-frame, what's the upside of this lens vs. the Tokina? It specs out as slower and the reviews for the Tokina are great. Is it because it's full-frame that there's interest?

Nick.

Nikons zoom lenses in this series have been amazingly sharp and CA free. I havent used the tokina, but I expect amazing results if its real. Personally, I probably wouldnt buy one. This would be a rental for me, given the right project.

I was thinking of stills for this, on full frame.

Needed to be 2.8 to be really revolutionary. Now it's just convenient.

Right, if it's so pedestrian how come no other optics Co. has made a 10mm FF lens. Assuming it's rectilinear.

I'm with Evin on this one. 10mm covering FF is a big deal. The Tokina 11-16 is f2.8 and is a very nice lens, especially considering the price. But it only covers DX sensors and that has been the one factor that has kept me from buying it.

Nice lens.
Notice the little focusdisplay. On my Nikons I have ft on top and meters on the bottom. Last I looked 0.8m is more than 2.5 ft - so why is it opposite on this photo?

Maybe I'm the idiot, but this struck me... :umm:

If you put a lens on a full frame sensor you'd get even more FOV than on a S35 sensor. My rough calculations say it would be about 359 degrees... :) Anyone know the angle?

Canon's 10mm zoom is 3.5f, not much faster and covers only APS-C.

This would make for stunning photography and could be used for daytime filming also... imagine the landscapes and cityscapes.

I'll bet it's $4000.

:-(

I think I'll keep my Tokina. . . I'm in love with that one.

It's hard to tell exactly but I'd bet that's .3 not .8.

It's hard to tell exactly but I'd bet that's .3 not .8.

Maybe, but if it is 0.3m then that must be almost as close as you can get with the lens - so the focus ring goes from close to infinity in a (ca.) 20 degree turn?

Hi Evin,

Great news!
If it is in the same league as their 17-35 f2.8 and 28-70 f 2.8, that will be awesome!

thanks
