Okay, So I'm kinda getting this work flow under wraps. I'm going to use the smaller res of the QT Proxies and then use "ClipFinder" to replace everything with the high res 4k files when I'm done and then start my color grading process. I still have a few questions left about exporting and color grading.

1.) If all my files are 4k and 2k, and I want to export out for web; Do I use H.264? I'm a little worry with the H.264 because I feel that it might take some of the color away and lighten up the blacks. I've seen this before with 10bit uncompress 4:2:2. So, would that be a good route to take?

2.) When your exporting for visual effects, do you give your post-production team the R3D files? Their using After Effects and there is some composting that needs to be done. Just wanted to know if I need to give them the R3D files or the 4k QT REDCODE files?

3.) What is the color space with the 4 and 2 k files? is 422 or 444? Also, has anyone have any problems color correcting with red footage? Is there any thing we should look out for?

Thanks for your time,

-Mur

In regards to #1. You're going to lose fidelity with any end-user codec, but h.264 is going to give you the best result. Vimeo or youtube is going to recode it back to a main profile video anyway, so it would be in 4:2:0 on your end delivery anyway.
