Hi,
Do anyone know if there is any open-source tools to create an MXF file (containing DNxHD material), with an embedded timecode? I'd like to create an MXF file and load it straight into an Avid, without the use of an ALE file.
Is this possible? I'm using ffmpeg to generate MXF wrapped files right now, but it does not seem to support timecode as metadata.

Avid MetaFuze just got released.
Just a shame that it can Only output MXF in DNxHD. And not in SD.
Also I belive Nucoda and BaseLight "BLT" can do it.
Episode by Telestream can create XDcam MXF that can be read in Avid, although they are still trying to get the Reel-info inside the MXF, there is a workaround to get an ALE with reelnumber together with the MXF. But thats a true workaround.
Would be nice to have RedRushes being able to output MXF

Any plans to enable generating Avid SD formats for editorial with Metafuze? Direct transcoding to Avid DV, or Meridian formats for example would be very handy. There are still a lot of non HD Avids being used for offline editing.
Also will there be an OSX version, or will it always only run on a Mac under VMware/Bootccamp?
Thanks

Can't speak to future development being a public company but these are all items we are aware of and are tracking.
