How big/heavy are the Lomo anamorphic prime lenses? Specifically the 35, 50, and 75mm. Do they need any additional support weight-wise?
Thanks!

The 35mm does. It is a pretty awkward lens that requires a support bracket. I mostly use the Universal Mount from RED, the support I have for the lens itself and a 3/8 screw to support off the universal mount. That is the low budget way of doing it, otherwise you could use an Arri support. The 50, 75mm don't require support.

If you used the 35mm square front, that is smaller than the round front and does not require support.

I had a support made for the Lomo RF 35mm - it's a beast - hard to fit the FF3 under too.
Then again the Russians and the Germans never meshed well since Stalingrad.
The Square front is much less of an affront to the the Pl mount however - and surprisingly not too different optically IMVHO. (I have both) - perhaps some slight barrel distortion but I can't think of a 35mm Ana lens that isn't an insult to the law of straight lines.

Awesome, thanks for the info!
Out of curiosity, does anyone actually rent the square fronts in LA/Hollywood? I only ever see round fronts.
