There's a feeling in the air..

Do you guys feel it? A type of quiet on the board, Jim's around, but not responded to letters or much on the forum.

We're two weeks away from an announcement which I consider the largest since I've been watching this camera and thread.

I am guessing we'll either have a revised schedule that will be pretty dependible, or we won't.

The first option will throw this board into high gear, and no matter how many times poor Jim says "It's not set in stone" people will be making plans, and making them quick!

The second option will also throw this board into high gear, but, I fear, going in the wrong direction. So we won't talk about that

Truth be told, in Jim's own words, he's not going to announce a schedule unless he feels pretty good about it.

Personally I am very excited.. I have complete confidence that things will work out.. This errie quiet is a sign of it. RED is working like hell right now.

They know what's on the line and have no interest in meeting expectations. Then intend to surpass them.

This "5 week" waiting period is the calm before the storm, and we're down to two weeks!

BTW looking at the LTO-4 Backup drives for my editing system. Is there anyone else looking at these things?

I was starting to look at the LTO-3's. How're the 4's, price/performance-wise?

The tapes seem to be same.. Price is around 3,500 for drive.. But for 800gb native and 1600 compressed, that's the way I am going to go.
