So I'm about to go in on some speaker wire (500ft) with a friend whos wiring his house in oregon, and wanted to get the opinions of some fellow RED users. The speakers he is wiring are the speakers from his club (they are taller than me), and I am wiring my 7.1 system with some floorstanding infinity speakers and bookshelfs in about a 20x15 room. I initially wanted to go all out and do some 10 gauge, but after kinda looking into it, hearing about how the thickness is sometimes a pain in the butt to bend around corners, etc, that it would be not a real big audible difference to go with 12 gauge (and gain some jacket flexibility). I got a catalog a while back (not crutchfield or B&H) that had a large listing of EVERYTHING audio, but can't remember the name, anyone have a recommendation for a place to get a spool of 500ft of speaker wire and banana plugs? And also, is it worth it / noticeable to go down to the 10 gauge from 12 gauge? Thanks in advance!!
