Hi everyone!
I´m confused about the resolutions for working and output. Changing these seems fine with premiere but what about After Effects?
- is there a good workflow between Premiere and After Effects regarding resolution settings?
Do you always need to use 4k in AE? Because if you use a lower resolution for fast work like 1k, and a higher one in the final output, say 4k, masks are not scaled and so on.
- Importing Premiere Projects in AE is great, but how do you manage to switch back to Premiere. Is dynamic link delivering consistent quality or does it break done all the time?
Can anybody provide some hands-on experience please?

AE is not resolution independent, but you can set preview to half or quarter res which will speed up the processing.

Ok, beofre you import to After Effects you need to create a new 4K secuence in premiere and copy paste the timeline.
In after effects you can Import the premiere secuence add masks and so on.
I dont know why would you want to finish on premiere.
You can Import to after effects the mixed audio and export from there.

Thanks
I did it just like that: new sequence in 4K, copy pase, set red to full, open in After Effects.
AE imports the Premiere files in the same structure but the problem I have, that the picture looks washed out and too bright -really ugly and not the was it is displayed in Premiere.
Any idea?

Change the RED setting in the edit menu before opening or importing the sequence.
The basics are right here link. (http://blogs.adobe.com/davtechtable/2008/12/native_red_camera_files_cs4.html)

Your color settings sound like they are not the same in both programs. For instance, you may be seeing Redspace in Premiere and Raw in AE.
Just a thought.

You need to right clik on a clip in afx chose interpret footage/preserve rgb on, then u can right clik on the clip again and go intereprte footage/ remember, then select all clips in afx and right clik interpret footage apply, then all clips will look identical to premiere. Redcentre confirmend this is the way to make afx look the same as premiere as well.
Hope that helps.

Thanks everybody!
I saw the davtechtable video and read the instructions from red as well. But still little things get in the way of the flow.
