Whats the current best workflow for RED 2 Avid 2 REDCINE 2 FCP ultimatly color

Project is a Music video

What is the current best workflow for the following

Editing in Avid Media Composer on a Mac
Then sending the locked MV to REDCine for a 1Light BESTlight Color Correction

Then sending that REDcine exported MV to FCP for some pan and scan and AE for some composting. Then sending it all to Color for final Color Correction.


I hope there are some useful solutions thanks.

any luck with this workflow? I'm trying to do the same thing but on a PC...which seems crazy.

The PC side will be more painful depending on what and where you need to go with the files. REDCINE can make DNxHD and you use either MetaCheater to the REDCINE XML to ALE converter script found on the Avid resources pages at www.avid.com/red

You can use MetaFuze but there is no audio support and that can work in some situations for output back to certain applications depending on what their "tape" name compatibility support is within that application. What is the path you are looking to do?
