I just simply don't understand how did you get red one? It costs 30 000 bucks, I simply can’t imagine such amount of money :) Canon HF100 (800buk) that’s my limit :)

How does a mechanic afford $30~$100K or more for tools? RED is a tool, which can be used to make images. How professional or good looking the images are depends entirely on the person(s) operating the camera and processing the images shot with it.

So Peter Jackson shoots RED, Vorob shoots HF100 for $800 bucks. How much money do you think a Peter Jackson film brings in? Side note, he has probably triple that amount of money in a set of lenses for his RED One.
Not to mention, RED's real competition costs hundreds of thousands per camera.
This doesn't mean paying a lot for a camera gives you a good film. But people that make good films want good tools that don't get in the way of their craft.

It's all relative -- compared to a consumer HD camcorder, the RED ONE is expensive, compared to a Sony F35, it's dirt cheap...
But yes, owning professional gear gets expensive. You have to weigh the investment against potential return within a reasonable period of ownership.
