Hi Guys i was one of the lucky guys who had the chance to test these lenses.
Here are some pics of a burlesque show we shot this friday.
This is Miss Julietta la Doll and her lovely friends.
http://www.myspace.com/missjulietta
this test was more about the feeling the lenses can give me rather than to judge the technical side...and i am really happy with them.
anybody who doesnt love half naked women should leave the thread
right now.
Shot with build 16, 4k 2:1, rc 28 at f1.7, available light,tungsten,
maximum asa 2000, to redrive, denoised.
Lens:
25mm
F1.7--wide open
there is a thread where you can judge the technical side of the lens

and for the don juans out there

last but not least

What focal lenght did you use, and what denoiser ?

These look nice..but it's hard to discern the real quality of these lenses with this type of shot...

yeah, however shooting this was big fun (was there as well).
i am not sure what lenses of the set kaya used. I would estimate: the 25mm?
also, and that will be fun, the other cam used cookes, so there will be the comparision shortly - but not basing on this footage alone :)
kaya, am i allowed to upload some of the cooke footage from that night?

Glad to see some stuff, but have to admit that you have the balls:gun: to start the show with 2000 asa de-noised, tungsten wide open @ 1.7 is that (f1.7)
Love to see some more
edit:
ooops did not see the other post.

its f1.7. T wasnt 100% clear until measured (theory and real world etc) - its T1.9.

Nice Girls, yes, but that tells me squat about the lenses. You should have called your post "No Show Time"
Is this going to become a Red style hype and tease ? I'm actually really interested to see what you've made.
Lens tests are not nearly as sexy, but that's how big kids pick their glass.
Side by side with Ultraprimes, in a setup that has some out of focus stuff in the background and foreground, a person, a center chart and a corner chart would be a reasonable start to look at most focal lengths from 18-100.
AND WELCOME BACK.

What denoiser was used on the footage?
I'm impressed with the results you got at an ISO of 2000.

I am assuming you did not just denoise the still images, in which case what did you use to denoise the footage?
The stills look very nice, an interesting fragility to them.

Any specifics you would care to share with the software used?
Also are there any clips online of the footage in motion?

What denoise software did you use, or do you for some reason prefer to not to disclose that information?

It´s going funny, no even it´s more distressing and frustrating. This forum trends in a direction where it shouldn´t trend to - image cultivation !
In the beginning it was a wonderful help source... what a shame...

Well in a thread were it's about NEW AMAZING lenses I do see a reason to start discussing if de-noise software has been used to demonstrate the pictures.
As the matter of fact the pics should be as neutral and without as little CC as possible. Not saying we should look at RAW files, but there's a difference between me having a proper grade in a Lustre or a Baselight, with an experienced grader and a "fool" behind the wheels of for example Color.
Edit: Ignore the last bit, just looked back a little on this thread and realized I jumped the gun a little early. My apologies

These lenses could be good for a retro look; they look a little like a bolex lens, a tad soft and lacking contrast.

great stuff!
...I actually wanted to start a denoising thread yesterday, but then I thought I only have questions about it...a denoising thread should be started by somebody with solutions, so please start one!
Thanks!

How is sharing information about how an image was captured not a help source? Especially an interesting image that does not use standard practices for exposure.
By definition this thread is a help source for those wishing to push the prescribed boundaries of the Red One camera.
Also, Kaya, if you have any more images for us to cultivate, that would be nice to see in the mean time before any footage is available. Thanks.

Hi Martin,
actually here on reduser arent only rental guys.
Here are some shooters and artists who use the camera to capture pictures, cultivate them and tell a story.
And a real world shooting under hard circumtances and then the discussion about how to achieve that look is something that is very important for a lot of people.
BTW. All people asked for the denoise did get their answer.
----martin you are invited to come to berlin and do all your tests you wish
