Hello all,
Is the pictures on the RED site, and what was seen at NAB A fair representation of what the camera will look like when we take delivery? or will there be more changes to come? I love what i see. However I'm just curious. Not having seen the cage, EVF, or the other accessories in person. Is it possible to get a more detailed description on the accessories?

The cage has already changed. The camera will probably stay the same. BUT, wait till you get it into your hands :) Design is the thing that has changed a lot on this project!

I'm very curious about the design changes.
Is there a "no further changes" date? Since Red was originally thought to ship about now, was there such a date which was then pushed back to take advantage of the engineering delay?
Not being a manufacturer, I don't know how long it takes to go from CAD design to prototype to testing to modifications to final manufacture. Can you shed any light on this?
Surely the first cameras will ship with the necessary bit and pieces to mount follow focus, matte box, LCD, etc. Or, am I incorrect on this?
Good shooting and best regards,
Leo

Im pretty sure at Red there will never really be a "no further changes date".
Things will always improve, based off of the modular body that has been the baseline for quite awhile. Pretty much every cage piece has changed from what is on the website.
Maybe i will try and take some new photos today of where we are at.

PLEASE, I am like crying on the floor of my bathroom in withdrawal. When I finish that, I just sit in the shower fully clothed and cry some more.
I mean, I had to cop and I went out and bought an HVX last week. It's really bad.

I know how you feel. I just sold off all my SD equipment yesterday and I am already feeling a bit lost without having a camera sitting at the ready.
A few fresh images would help to fill the hole left from the experience.

HVX is actually making me pretty happy but I feel like I am taking the fat girl to the prom because my hot gf went to france with her family for the summer.

HVX is what it is. I have a love hate relationship with it at this point. with it's good framerates and the use of a lens adapter I can get so close to what I want out of it for commercial work..but then I log in and look at a RED image and cry again at the "cell phone camera quality" of the hvx images!
My cell phone takes better 2mp stills then the hvx.
But hey, I have learned how to squeeze a quarter from a penny with this rig.
argg...PLEASE hurry up and get the RED finished!
All the creative directors I know are dying to find projects for me when we get it!

The HVX has poor dynamic range and for those shots that need some meaty chroma it swills. Just thinking about a RAW color space is almost too much, I'm... starting... to... shake.... .... .... ... .. .. ..... .... .. ....... .. . .
