Be careful in the desert... you just might stumble onto one of these.

Matt worked overtime to show you one of the more unusual ways you can configure a Scarlet or a RED EPIC.

We can't keep up with all you can do with this system... and remember, you are seeing last week's stuff.

Man, that's a sexy looking camera. I can't stop looking, it feels like the amount of stuff shown in this render is just endless.

Also- is that the first time we've seen the battery module facing the smart side? Don't we usually see them on the dumb side? It'd be sweet if it could go either way. Or maybe they pass all the way through.

What a great ride, keeping up with this stuff.

Super sweet! ...Looks like its good real character. Loving the EVF too.

I have been posting the grabs on my facebook in excitement and making little comments about the Scarlet. This is out of excitement and to indoctrinate the non-believers. I've had some quite funny comments from people who have no interest in filmmaking or photography. for example: "I have no idea what that means, and no idea what it does but I want one...now!"

I'm guessing this is how RED is going to get around the Battery size issue with mailing/flying? Make smaller batteries, then they won't be restricted as much. Either way, I'm all for smaller batteries as long as they're easy to swap, each have their own readout for power and charge quickly.

Well they are shipping slowly still but Red will eventually catch up. They cost $9,975.00, and are in the Red.com store: http://www.red.com/store/202001

It is supposedly a phenomenal zoom that starts real wide and ends on portrait territory at 18mm to 85mm zoom range.
It is fast, at T2.9, and everyone says it is true Professional PL zoom at about a third the price.
As far as I know, nobody has said a bad thing about it yet.

Some estimate they may have shipped about 100 so far but there is confirmation of about thirty shipped that I know of.
Here is a thread about that: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26269

yea i think more than anything, where we are at (and conisder that prototypes we are seeing are most likely along the same developmental lines as what RED is doing; what we are seeing there is a far cry from what they are currently developing / have right now) that scares the piss out of me. Not to mention it is creepy looking.

BUT

Combine that, scorpion and a cineflex to remote film crazy elemental stuff that humans can't really go and film....
