View Full Version : EVF issues

I have been noticing some issues recently with my EVF.

When I pan I can see banding in certain areas of the frame.

This not a "cold weather" issue. I am talking about average everyday use.

It is not always that apparent. Depends on lighting conditions - i.e. gradated lighting on an evenly colored surface.

When the camera is still it is not noticable.

I also have a very subtle overlay of vertical lines.

Also, when it has been on for a while, I get some serious noise in shadow areas. Like Speckled white dust and solarization. I am in the warmth and comfort of my livingroom. Repeat - not cold weather related.

I guess, as I am typing this, I realize it is support ticket time. But thought I'd solicit some feedback here.

I had the very same problems. Sent it back and they fixed it.

Dont know if its relevant, but our EVF will switch of for a few seconds after you cancel the focus assist zoom function. The image kind of remains, burnt in to the black screen. Very odd, the monitor has no such problem. Is this something that I would need to get sorted or is it a build related issue maybe?

Same here, usually repluging the EVF fixes it.

The switching off for a couple of seconds after using image magnification is a bit more nagging. Sometimes I get the "EVF not pluged in" - alert for a second or two.

Hi,

Same problem here, but only recently. In the beginning everything was fine!
Build 17 and never changed any settings since. It is odd.

While we are at it: I really REALLY miss image magnification during shooting.

Of course I will forget that I´m in zoom mode and frame for the zoomed image - again.

And again.

But I still miss it.
