I was wondering if there was a chance any footage would be shown with the "film look" Peter Jackson was talking about in his interview. He says that to achieve the look one could simple go to 2K and add grain. I am very curious to see how closely this is to film as I have yet to truly replicate the look using Final Cut Pro. Yes, I know Final Cut is not the ideal system to do this on which is why I am hoping someone with better equipment will give it a try. I am sure I'm not the only one wanting to see something like this since there are a lot of people looking to RED to replace film.

Is there going to be something must see that we did not see at NAB?
I ask because I will be in LA at Cinegear saturday, but if you think is a must, then I will deal with the friday morning traffic to be there, it would be a placer seing you again anyways.

Dammit. Every time there's a Red presentation in this town, it's when I'm not in town.
I trust there will be more screenings in the future? (Pretty please with sugar?)

Hey Kelly, is there any chance that we could have a complete RED calender sticky thread or page on the official site? I feel like you guys are going to be near me and I'm going to miss it, and I don't know where to look.

I think I'm wait-listed. Which means I think there is no room.
I third the motion of putting the presentation minus the PJ short on Google video or somewherz.

IBloom: Google video? You've got to be kidding.
Some people have advised others that are on the wait-list to go anyway. Apparently some have gotten in that way (or were able to stand).

It looked great on the Big screen.
Walking out of the theater I heard some strangers say "That was %&* unbelievable!"
I can understand that reaction.... if you had never seen a Red screening, or CL.... It has to pretty mind blowing to witness it in person.
I think for a lot of us here who've been on the boards, we've been prepared to expect that great image. But, if Red was something you just heard about ..... maybe from some skeptics. Then see it with your own eyes on the Big screen, Wow! That has to be a trip.
To bad you couldn't see it, Elcurado.
But, I think you're going to get your chance....
Ted said at the screening, that CL was going through a new color grading, and he was supposed to fly over to NZ, to see it in a few weeks.
That's a lot of work..... I'm just guessing if there still working on it, they must be planning on showing it.

I live about 5 blocks from the VA Fairgrounds, where the Cinegear Expo was being held. So... how could I not attend?
The footage did indeed look great. I was impressed by the detail of the image and how it looked projected on the big screen. (The story was a bit slight, but that wasn't really the point, was it?)
I'd love to see some footage that demonstrated a wider-ranging color palette, though. Because of the subject matter, there were lots of olives, greys, and khaki. I'd like to see how a Red camera would do with something like the opening of the first Austin Powers movie, with every color of the rainbow packing each frame.
The audience seemed a bit sleepy throughout Tom's presentation, but on the way out, most of the comments I overheard were positive.
