I'm waiting for my RED here in the Rockies near Canmore. Anyone else with RED orders in Alberta?

Does the BC border (Alberta time-zone) count? ;-) I spend a lot of time in my hometown about 3 hours away from Canmore.

Sure, I'm just trying to get some people together like others for possible sharing of info and maybe collaboration. On the map it shows someone up near Edmonton with a reservation also. I'm hoping if a few more people in the area show up we could get together. I'm pretty far down the list and it would be nice to get a look at RED before I get mine.

What do you think abut engineering delay?

A friend of mine by the name of Joses Martin has a friend in the spruce grove area who is getting one as well, it seems that Alberta should have a decent amount of Red One's floating around, but not overly saturated.

Ya, I know Joses....
Just did 3 weeks of shooting for his dad..

I moved to Kelowna from Calgary almost five years ago. I was shocked nobody from Calgary was pinned on the ordered map. Glad to see your changing that trend. In fact for a while the six cameras here matched big 'ol Vancouver, but they have finally surpassed us.

I'm not pinned on the map but I'm from Calgary and have had mine on order for quite a while.

RED #68 coming from London, UK and Calgary, AB.

MINE FILMS is London based and we're spending a lot of time in Fernie, BC so starting to attack the Calgary / Vancouver scene.

I'm a Director / DoP / Colourist and will have my camera in September which will be pimped to the max for Feature and Commercial work.

Wow!

Haven't checked this thread for a while. Looks like we are going to have quite a few reds in the neighborhood. As soon as the shipping schedule gets finalized, we will all probably want to see the first red that arrives, at least I know I will. If someone is willing to show theirs that is. I will but I'm not going to be getting mine till about December or January I think.

By my count we will have Six REDS between Calgary and Banff.

Tom

Actually that count is incorrect. That would be 5 between Calgary and Banff and one in Edmonton. I'm assuming that every one who posted to this thread has actually ordered their Cameras. Would probably be nice to get a list going with some contact and other info.

Hello fellow Canadian film makers, two RED cams will be coming to Saskatchewan, the first RED #72 is scheduled to ship to Saskatchewan Sept 15th, and will be made availabe for rent after an initial two week testing period, and side by side comparison on Corner Gas. The second will arrive in January 2008. If anybody is interested in long or short term rentals, please feel free to drop me a line.

cheers

Hi Albertans.

I need a shooter in Edmonton next week. 1 day. Not shot on Red. It's a corporate so DVX or HVX would be fine. PM me if you have any suggestions.

Cheers,
Dale (ex dweller of both Calgary and Edmonton)

Hi AB Red owners.

Does anyone in the province rent their Red camera? Send me an email at graham@pyramidproductions.tv if you do. We're looking for a day rental early next month in Calgary.

Thanks in advance.

I have family in Sylvan Lake and would gladly fly in to do work in or around Alberta if the job covers travel expenses and rental. PM me if something comes up :-)

I was in Canmore, Banff and Jasper just a month ago and would love to shoot my RED there in the future :-)

Hi Everyone.

I'm looking at ordering a Red real soon here, any advice to be given? I'm sure those that have it are real happy. I'm planning on shooting with Nikon Primes till I start seeing some Red Primes, (and cause the prices of the red lenses scare the crap out of me...)

Look forward to getting to know you all.

Thx

O.

P.S. I'm a Cow-Town dweller.

"Things usually work out better than you plan. When you`re shooting a film you`re so close to it, it rarely lives up to your expectations while you`re there. You always want it to be better, more perfect. When you see a cut, maybe two or three months later, you come to it fresh. It`s generally much better than you thought it would be. " DEAKINS

If you are referring to reds in the city, i have actually been here since february. I however like to imagine that you are also referring to the Oilers. In which case you have just done the impossible and made me like you guys at Red even more.

So, Jarred's from Edmonton, and Finner's from Calgary, that explains a lot ( :

Born in Scotland, I spent about 25yrs in Calgary and my partner's from Edmonton.
Now live in Victoria.

Anyhow, if any of you RED cats are in the vicinity, I have a photography exhibition at the Whyte Museum in Banff- FEB 6th 2010. Opening reception 7-9pm
It would be great to meet up with you.

Just over in Winnipeg we now have the 18-85 zoom in house. What a beast. I need the Mantis to go with the camera package now -it's too unruly off the sticks!

I have a Mantis and a Cooke 18-90 (also a beast) the Mantis has a hard time with that kind of weight actually... ET should have built a grove into the lock off or something...
