Does anyone know or care to speculate if Final Cut Studio 3, the new release soon, will include editing natively in RedCode or editing in something higher than ProRes 2K....perhaps 3K or 4K?
Be nice to edit Red footage within Final Cut in the full resolution. That is for Final Cut, Motion, Shake...I am wondering about.
Also will the new Final Cut Studio support the Scarlets adjusted Redcode 42?
Anyone? Thanks-

who knows. and i believe the "soon to be released" FCS3 is still just rumor. probable, but unofficial.

Anyone who knew anything about FCS3 would be under an NDA - and how could we know anything about how an unreleased piece of software would handle footage from an unreleased piece of hardware in an unreleased codec?
;)

Well, Ben, one could know and post here anonymously or as my post requested, one could "speculate" or someone from RED could "hint" at or perhaps divulge something on this issue.
Or at least it gets the word out there from one more person that it is something that is sorely wanted and that this forum is one more place to communicate issues like this.
You see, there was a point to my posting this question here Ben. If you think about it you may see that.

Oh and you said something about how could anyone know when the hardware hasn't been released. Well, RED is the hardware and REDCODE is the codec and both the hardware and software in camera are released for that. And with Apple, the hardware, the MacPro and the like is released as well. The only "unreleased" item so far is the new software Final Cut Studio 3.
With respect, I hope you take a little bit more time before posting an answer in the future.

maybe at the fcs supermeet in Las Vegas we'll have some clues.
hopefully.
I am really in the need of setting up a grading and conforming workstation.
it would be a great news if Apple Color could finally do the work!... for a fraction of the money required at the moment for the big guys!...
it will be really Red Style...
cross my fingers and wait!
Go Apple, go!
