Hello Redusers,
I'm slowly plugging through editing my first Red project. So far I've had a really great time working with the footage- no real problems until now.
I am working on a scene which has a lot of pretty long takes, so a lot of the R3D files are split in two, as I understand the file size caps at 2GB. The problem is this- when I send my project to Color from FCP, any clips that are two or more .R3Ds will not play/render any video from the second or later .R3D.
My workflow is this:
4K RC36, 24fps.
1. Edit _H proxies in FCP using "Red using ProRes" as described in the whitepaper from Red.
2. Send to color, perform corrections.
3. Render.
4. Send to final cut.
When I do this, the rendered video plays fine up until information from the second or later .R3D would come into play. Then it just stutters a couple of frames repeatedly until the timeline ends.
Has anyone else run into this issue? Got a solution? I'm having some trouble describing this to Google, not to mention this forum's search function. Any info would be appreciated!
