Hello,

Anyone running an Intel MacBook Pro and boot camp?
If so is anyone using the PC versions of PhotoShop and
After Effects? Do they run and if so how well do they run?

Thanks

I'm not running those specific apps, but they should run fine (if you're running Windows XP). Bootcamp is not an emulation (it is during boot, but that's another story), it runs Windows natively. So basically any app should work.

I have had some problems with VirtualPC though (virtualisation software, which is going way more low-level than any "normal" application).

32-bit XP also does not seem to see more than 2 GB of memory under Bootcamp. If you install the 64-bit version this problem goes away (then you don't have all the drivers however).

While I'm not running Boot Camp on a MacBook Pro, I am running it on a MacPro with no problems. PS runs fine in XP, and everything else I've installed is running smoothly under XP on the MacPro. The Cinema display won't turn on or off with the side buttons under XP though (unless I'm missing something).
I can't see why Boot Camp on a MacBook would be any different to the MacPro.
The install was problem free, other than the USB keyboard didn't get recognized on the first install attempt, but that shouldn't be an issue on a laptop.
I just wish I didn't have to run windows to do some of the things I need to do...

Hello Rob and Johnny M,
Thanks for those insights.....
I am waiting here to find out the RED Schedule
and then we will order the MacBook Pro.
Thanks

Johnny: the cinema display on/off button works sporadically here. I had to boot into OS X and enable that button to turn the display on and off. It then also works under XP in about 1 in 5 cases or so (on my mac pro system).
