RED PRO 18-85 lens problem

Hi,

We have a RED PRO 18-85 and it's a fantastic lens ...but I have noticed a strange behavior. When set to about 70-85 mm, the T-stop ring will not go all the way down to 2.9 But if I zoom out to 18 mm, the T-stop ring move fine all the way up and down. We have serial no 25.

Anyone else seen this?

Some zoom lenses are a half stop or more slower at full zoom, so they might limit the f/ ring at the long end.

If that is what is going on, it seems odd that there was not a note about it in the data sheet?

That's not normal behaviour. Contact Red I'd say, sounds like your lens has an issue.

Yes, not good. This lens have been a bit strange. Also the focus ring move with more drag than other optics too.

I just mailed red. See what they say.
